Privacy Policy

1. Who we are

Gopher Lab Growth Academy (“Gopher Lab”, “we”, “us”) is an educational service operated from Rohtak, Haryana, India. Contact: vikash@gopherlab.in

2. Information we collect

  • Identity: name, email, phone, WhatsApp number, parent name & relation.
  • KYC (only at contract signing): Aadhaar number, optional PAN, address. Stored encrypted at rest using AES (Fernet).
  • Payment: Razorpay order/payment IDs and amounts. We never see your full card or UPI VPA — Razorpay handles that.
  • Learning: course progress, mock-test scores, attendance, login sessions, badges, certificates.
  • Usage: standard server logs (IP, user-agent) for security and debugging only.

3. Why we collect it

To create your account, accept payment, deliver the course, issue your enrolment contract and completion certificate, send class reminders, and meet our legal obligations under Indian law.

4. KYC encryption

Aadhaar and PAN are encrypted with a server-side key (Fernet symmetric AES-128-CBC + HMAC). Only the last 4 digits are ever displayed in admin UIs and PDFs. Decryption requires the server key — admins do not have direct database access.

5. Sharing

We do not sell or rent your data. We share only with:
  • Razorpay — payment processing.
  • Resend — transactional email delivery.
  • Twilio — WhatsApp class reminders & confirmations.
  • Indian regulators / law-enforcement when legally compelled.

6. Retention

Account & learning data: retained while your account is active and for 7 years thereafter for legal/audit purposes. KYC records (Aadhaar/PAN, encrypted): retained for 7 years per RBI / IT-Act guidance and then permanently destroyed.

7. Your rights

You can request a copy or deletion of your personal data by emailing vikash@gopherlab.in. We will respond within 30 days. Note: deleting an active student account terminates course access (no refund — see Refund Policy).

8. Cookies & local storage

We store your auth token, theme preference and last-viewed module in your browser's localStorage. We do not use third-party advertising or analytics cookies.

9. Children

Students under 18 must enrol with a parent/guardian's e-signed consent on the contract. We do not knowingly collect data from children below 13.

10. Updates to this policy

We may update this policy; the version date above will change. Material changes will be emailed to enrolled students.
